Have a car with not very good brakes. Saturday wasn't too kind to me with regards to brakes. I ran the front brakes on the Z4 down to practically the backing pads on the track, and then on the way back, the trailer brakes failed to actuate. While I was attempting to stop from 70MPH on the off-ramp off I-75. At least it was uphill...
I did get it stopped with minimal added drama, aside from the "PLEASE STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" screams from the driver. Turns out that someone routed the wiring harness for the electric trailer brakes in the path of the suspension. A few big bumps on I-285 in the right lanes means it smashed the wires straight through, opening the circuit. I have since patched appropriate gauge wire with soldered connections (Although I find their 16AWG choice questionable for extended brake use), and re-routed the harness out of the way.

Also, let it be a warning to not cheap out on a trailer. Make sure you get your bearings repacked on schedule, and always check the wiring harness.
I'm genuinely lucky that the truck was able to stop it on its own, as the car+trailer weight is about the same as the F-150 towing it.

Bad brakes lead to bad breaks.
